Scheduling an Appointment
Call the Center for Sleep Medicine at (610) 828-4060. If your insurance is an HMO, you may need a referral from your primary care physician.
Questionnaire Process
After you make your appointment, you will be asked to complete a brief questionnaire regarding your sleep and medical history. You should bring the completed questionnaire with you to your initial evaluation.
Initial Evaluation
During the first visit, your evaluation will include a detailed discussion about your sleep problem and the information in the questionnaire. A sleep test is usually recommended.
Sleep Test
If a polysomnogram (sleep test) is ordered, you will be given an appointment to return and sleep in the center overnight. During the test, sophisticated equipment monitors your sleep patterns, breathing, heart activity and muscle movements throughout the night. Some patients may also have a Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT- daytime nap test) during the day following the nighttime sleep test.
Follow-Up Visit
Soon after the test, you will return for a follow-up visit. All results and recommendations will be discussed with you during this visit and a complete report will be sent to your doctor.
