 Clinical Research Program

The Center for Sleep Medicine is a private free-standing full service sleep disorders center that is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.  All clinical trial studies are reviewed by a central IRB. 

 June M. Fry, M.D., Ph.D. is the Director of the Center for Sleep Medicine and Principal Investigator for clinical research.  She is board-certified in neurology and sleep medicine with 25 years of clinical research experience.  As of April 2008, she has conducted a total of 46 clinical trial studies: 11 Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), 8 Narcolepsy, 22 Insomnia, 2 Sleep Apnea, and 3 Home Polysomnography studies.

There are two Nurse Practitioners who serve as Sub-Investigators, and a research coordinator. There are six trained sleep technicians, including the manager, with research experience. 

The center has five private sleep rooms for polysomnography, uses Alice 5 acquisition systems and is certified by Clinilabs, Inc.  Other research equipment includes: ECG machine, -20 degree freezer, locked drug refrigerator, locked drug cabinets and centrifuge.
