Visiting Us

Our recently expanded facility combines state-of-the-art medical technology with a warm and inviting atmosphere.  When you visit SVSC, our goal is to make you feel like you are a welcome guest in our home.  From the rich, soothing tones of our walls and carpet to the soft lighting and plush fabrics, every detail is designed to help you relax and enjoy your visit.

Our waiting room is a relaxing lounge area featuring comfortable sofas and chairs.  Tastefully decorated in a southwest motif, this room is meant to help take your mind off your sleep problems.  Infants, toddlers, and young children will find a special section designed as a safe haven just for them, with bright colors, child-sized furniture, and stimulating books and games.

When you schedule an appointment with us, you will meet with either Dr. Jenkins or Dr. Smith in one of our consultation rooms.  Here, we promise to listen carefully to your concerns.  We want to hear your story. Each person’s medical history, personal experience, and life situation is unique, and the combined effect that all of this has on your sleep will be unique as well. So this consultation time will be our opportunity to discover what we can about your sleep and to propose the next steps that need to be taken.

After this consultation, the next step for many of our patients is to schedule a sleep study.  Our facility features four cozy bedrooms that are fully equipped with the latest diagnostic technology available with which we can evaluate your sleep.  Most often, this study involves an overnight stay in one of our rooms.  This kind of overnight sleep study is called a polysomnogram.  Sometimes we also ask that you stay the following day for an additional daytime sleep study.  This is called a Multiple Sleep Latency Test.

While it can always be hard to sleep in a different bed and in a new location, we go out of our way to provide you with a comfortable environment in which you will be able to fully relax.  Our sleep technologists who are in charge of connecting and monitoring the equipment during your study are all highly skilled and fully trained specialists.  Even more importantly, they are also friendly and caring individuals who are most concerned about taking care of your needs.

Within one to two weeks of your sleep study, we will have the results tabulated and analyzed.  If your physician referred you to us, then we will supply him or her with these results, along with our professional recommendations.  If you came directly to us to seek assistance, then we will meet with you personally to discuss our findings and to propose a course of action to put you on the path to better sleep.

Some of our patients may need to return for periodic check-ups or exams, while others will be able to fulfill their treatment requirements on their own.  We enjoy hearing from our patients after they have visited us.  We appreciate their feedback and suggestions for how we can strengthen our services, and we are also thrilled to get details about how their sleep has improved.  We hope you will soon become one of the many satisfied visitors who has benefited from their experience at SVSC.
